Statens Kunstfond: Støtte til arbejdslegater og komponistaftaler

Statens Kunstfond inviterer til informationsmøde for danske komponister, sangskrivere og lydkunstnere lørdag 12. maj på SPOT Festivalen i Aarhus.

Mangfoldige talenter spirer i stor stil i det danske musikliv, og musikalsk talent kan blomstre alle steder i fødekæden, hos både unge og ældre talenter. Her spiller støtten fra Statens Kunstfond en afgørende rolle til at støtte udviklingen af talentet og kunstnerisk udvikling i det hele taget. Statens Kunstfond uddeler i alt 17 mio. kr. til arbejdslegater, komponistaftaler og præmieringer.

Arbejdslegater til den skabende musik

Sidste år modtog 253 danske komponister, sangskrivere og lydkunstnere arbejdslegater til at skabe ny musik. 885 havde søgt, og de uddelte legater var i størrelsesordenen 35.000 – 250.000 kr.

Dansk musik skal spilles og opføres

En anden støttemulighed for den skabende musik er komponistaftaler til for eksempel bestillingsværker, huskomponistaftaler, residencies og andre forpligtende samarbejder mellem musikaktører og danske komponister inden for alle former for musik. Statens Kunstfond yder tilskud til komponisternes honorar.

This briefing session is based on the ‘Dissecting The Digital Dollar’ reports produced by CMU Insights for the Music Managers Forum in the UK – findings which have recently been compiled and updated in a new book available from Amazon.

This session at SPOT+ will also include insights on how digital licensing specifically works in the Nordic markets, and how it differs from the UK and the US.

Let’s Talk Data I: The datafication of musical taste

The digital music industry is increasingly data-centered and it is often assumed that developments in big data are at the heart of the future of the music business. But how do differences in quality and access to data affect the industry dynamics? What are the implications of the emergence of algorithmic curation and recommendation of music for the future of musical development and taste? And how is data changing the ability to make money from music in the digital age?

This keynote reports from an ongoing research project at Roskilde University. It explores the multitudes of different data that are currently being used in the music industries and discusses the potential impact of data on business models, taste and power relations across the music industry sectors.

Rasmus Rex Pedersen is Assistant Professor, PhD at Roskilde University.

Let€s Talk Data II

Musikforbruget har aldrig været større. Og vi har aldrig vidst så meget om  publikum, som vi gør i dag. Tænk fx på den “big data” som skabes, når millioner af mennesker hver dag streamer musik over hele verden. Hvis vi havde adgang til al den information, som faktisk findes, og ressourcerne til at analysere den, ville vi blive meget bedre til at nå vores publikum. Og spare masser af penge på vores markedsføring. Problemet er, at de færreste af os har adgangen og ressourcerne. Og – må vi være ærlige at sige – heller ikke de fornødne kompetencer. Men på nogle vigtige områder er der hjælp at hente. Også for musikere, sangskrivere og DIY-producenter. På seminaret “Let’s Talk Data” har vi samlet fire aktører, som præsenterer deres respektive tjenester, der på forskellig måde bidrager til en større grad af viden og transparens. De vil også give deres bud på den fremtidige udvikling på området.

Recent years have seen an increasing interest in Nordic music with artists such as MØ, Sigrid and Tove Lo. In order to capitalize on that attention and success, the role of the manager has become more and more important when it comes down to the international career development of Nordic artists.

Secondary Ticketing – Hvad er egentlig i forbrugernes interesse?

Der sælges og videresælges billetter på det sekundære marked som aldrig før. Billetter til koncerter og festivaler handles på dba.dk, i kommentartråde på Facebook og ikke mindst gennem online virksomheder som StubHub og ViaGoGo - ofte til forhøjet pris. Det er ulovligt, og forbrugerne advares gang på gang mod denne type handler. Alligevel virker markedet for videresalg af billetter til at være i vækst, og omsætningen er enorm. Organisation Fanfair Alliance* vurderer at der årligt omsættes for én milliard pund på det sekundære marked for billetter til musik- og sportsarrangementer i Storbritannien alene. Til sammenligning, er det cirka dobbelt så meget som hvad alle streamingtjenesterne til sammen, omsætter for i samme territorie.

Det sekundære marked associeres ofte med lovbrud og bedrag, men hvorfor tiltrækkes så mange forbruger så alligevel dertil?

Er der nogle forbrugermæssige fordele ved det sekundære marked, som vi har overset?

Er måden vi prissætter og sælger billetter på forældet?

Hvordan skal live-branchen forholde sig til det her marked fremadrettet?
