SPOT would like to invite Nordic bands and artists with ambitions and international potential – and also their managers and representatives – to apply to play a showcase at SPOT. You can apply online from the 16th of October at 12 noon until 12 noon on the 28th of November.

At the sold out event in 2017 SPOT featured more than 300 concerts across genres. In addition to a dedicated audience from Denmark and abroad, and the .ii..Danish music press and music industry, more than 300 international media and music industry people from 22 different countries attended the festival.

SPOT is an important display window for bands and artists who want to take the next step in their careers nationally as well as internationally. For that reason the showcase event is an important tool for the two organizations behind it – ROSA – the Danish Rock Council and MXD – Music Export Denmark, both of which work hard to give Danish music a boost abroad.

The purpose of SPOT is to facilitate career development for the acts at SPOT. That is why an application to play a showcase at SPOT must be motivated.

We would like to stress that a previous performance at SPOT in no way disqualifies a band or an artist from applying again.

The music line-up will be selected by a listening jury, consisting of music professionals and the SPOT secretariat. The final line-up will consist of newcomers and defining bands and artists in Danish and Nordic music right now, as well as acts who have been selected on the basis of international interest and demand.

The following material must be uploaded as part of the application:

  • Pictures in a high resolution and at least 5 x 5 cm
  • A short presentation of the act (no more than 400 characters)
  • Additional information – such as press releases
  • Two or three tracks in one of the following file formats: mp3,.aac/.m4a or Ogg Vorbis (.ogg/.oga)

Furthermore, applicants must state:

Their reasons to want to play a showcase at SPOT 2018

The specific objectives the applicant and his/her/their representatives have for a showcase at SPOT 2018.
